The US electric carmaker Tesla Motors has unveiled batteries, which can power homes.
Elon Musk, the firm’s chief executive officer, said that it would build rechargeable batteries, which store solar energy and provide a back-up during blackouts. He said that the move is a “critical step” towards “zero emission power generation”.
Tesla will sell the 7kWh Powerwall lithium ion battery unit for $3,000, and shipping to installers will begin this summer in the US, reports said.
