Uber Uses Secret Program "Greyball" to Hide from Undercover Regulators
March 4 , 2017
Uber is reportedly using a secret program named “Greyball” to prevent undercover regulators from shutting down its service. Reports published in a leading US newspaper claims that existence of the Greyball program has been confirmed by 4 current and former employees of Uber. The secret program allegedly collects data on passengers to check whether the persons are undercover government regulators trying to catch Uber’s drivers in cities where their authorization are still pending. In a statement, Uber has said that the program only denies requests to fraudulent users who violate their terms of service.
