Twitter Challenges Instagram Preview Removal
December 12 , 2012
In partnership with software maker Aviary Inc, Twitter unveiled a set of photo filters that enable the user to adjust color, size, and the layout of photos uploaded through the applications for iPhones and Android Phones. Earlier this week Instagram, the popular photo sharing and editing tool, decided to revoke the preview feature that enabled Twitter users to view photos on the micro blogging site. Instagram was acquired by Facebook for $1 billion earlier in 2012 and the rivalry between the two social networks could have been the reason behind the decision to withdraw support to Twitter. Instagram users will be able to share pictures on Twitter by adding the website link but the preview feature has been revoked. In recent times, Twitter cards have gained much popularity and Twitter has now introduced photo filters to counter Instagram's move. While Instagram CEO, Kevin Systrom went on record to state that the move was necessary to encourage users to interact with photos on their home site, it is evident that the tool is increasingly beneficial for Facebook users.
