Twitter advertisements be targeted

Twitter has boosted its efforts to encourage advertisers to use it.
The micro-blogging site is set to enable marketers to choose from 350 different categories of interest to help target its most relevant audience.
The list includes Bollywood movies, pet dogs and television cartoons.
Users will then be selected based on who they follow and the contents of their tweets. The system is similar to one used by Facebook.
The move is the latest as part of Twitter's profit-making strategy.
Two years ago, it started charging firms to post messages identified by a "promoted by..." tag.
