Thoughts can be used to switch on genes, study shows
November 12 , 2014
A new study has shown that the power of thought can be used to switch on genes, media reports say.
Human brainwaves activated a small light implanted in mice, in the study. The LED in turn activated genetically engineered genes that were light sensitive.
According to the researchers, in future the technology could find use in pain management and tackling epileptic seizures.
However, they emphasized that any such use would take a long time to be developed.
