Teen kills himself after being blackmailed online

  • A Scottish teenager is said to have killed himself after being blackmailed on Twitter. The 17-year-old, Daniel Perry had been asked to pay into a bank account if he wanted to hide the chats from his family.

His mother said "knowing him as I do, he has felt embarrassed, horrified, and has thought he's let everybody down." She also said she wishes her son had known that there can be no reason good enough that justifies killing oneself.

Perry had also been bullied on the website ask.fm where he was asked to kill himself. Another teenager who killed herself after being bulled on the same website was 14 years of age. Her funeral took place today.
