Sprint announces new unlimited data plan for US smartphone users

  • Signaling an escalation in the price war in the American wireless industry, Sprint has announced a new plan for unlimited data for smartphone users, costing $60 a month.

While T-Mobile has a similar plan for $80 per month, biggies Verizon and AT&T have no unlimited data plans on offer.

In a statement chief executive Marcelo Claure said Sprint was the leader “in offering customers unlimited data.”

The unlimited data plan comes days after Sprint announced new pricing for family plans.
