Sprint accused of overcharging feds
March 5 , 2014
Telecommunications companies are allowed to claim back expenses while helping government wiretappers. However, the federal government has accused Sprint Communications for padding its bill to $21M.
The lawsuit states that Sprint "knowingly submitted false claims" to agencies over the years and inflated costs by over 50 percent.
The FCC ruled several years ago that companies aren't allowed to bill the government for any upgrades of the equipment. However, the company denies the scam and said its invoices comply with the law.
