Snapchat videos and pictures leaked after being stored on third party website
October 13 , 2014
Videos and pictures of around 200,000 teenagers posted using the mobile phone app Snapchat have been leaked and put online.
Many users of Snapchat, a service which allows people to send photographs that are deleted seconds after being viewed, were apparently lured by a malicious site that offered use of the service on a desktop computer website instead of merely a mobile phone.
This website appears to have then stored videos and photos, which were being posted.
In a statement Snapchat said its servers were not breached and users were "victimized by their use of third party apps.”
