Security patch to fix Android vulnerability unsuccessful, say researchers

  • An Android update meant to fix an operating system vulnerability is itself flawed, researchers say.

The hole that may have affected a whopping one billion Android phones was revealed last month.

Google said it had made a patch to fix it, but security firm Exodus Intelligence now says that the fix has been unsuccessful and, in fact, could give users a “false sense of security”.

The security firm said one of its researchers managed to easily bypass the patch.
