Samsung loses UK patent battle against Apple
March 8 , 2013
South Korean phone-manufacturer Samsung lost another patent battle against rival Apple in the UK High Court on Thursday.
Samsung had claimed technology used in Apple products to enable phones to send and receive data over 3G networks infringed three of its patents.
The firm said it was disappointed by the court's decision and would consider whether to file an appeal.
The case comes a week after the Galaxy smartphone maker failed to secure a ban on the iPhone in Japan.
Over the past two years, the world's top two smartphone makers have waged legal battle in courtrooms across some ten countries in a bid to dominate the lucrative smartphone industry.
Samsung has pursued a number of claims against Apple but has only won a marginal number of the cases.
