Samsung gets slammed by White House

  • President Obama doesn't want to be used to promote Samsung smartphones and the White House made sure to make that clear after the company tweeted a photo of Red Six star David Ortiz with the president.

The two took the selfie when the Red Sox went to the White House this week and the player insisted that it didn't have anything to do with his deal with Samsung.

"As a rule, the White House objects to attempts to use the president's likeness for commercial purposes," press secretary Jay Carney said. "And we certainly object in this case."
