Russian search engine Yandex protests Google's 'monopoly'

  • Yandex, Russia’s largest search engine, has complained that its rival Google has an unfair advantage as it compelled device makers to set Google as their default search setting for pre-installing the Play store.

Companies like Microsoft have filed similar complaints against Google elsewhere in Europe in the past.

Yandex says three electronic firms had contacted it in the past few months saying they could no longer pre-install the services of Yandex because of restrictions imposed by Google.
