RIM nearly ready to license BB10
August 14 , 2012
Research In Motion (RIM) is nearly ready to license its new BlackBerry 10 operating system to other manufacturers.
The new platform is in the final stages of testing, with RIM now looking into how other companies may be able to use it in a range of products, according to Chief Executive Officer Thorsten Heins.
RIM, whose BlackBerry devices have lost significant market share to rivals such as Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android software, is set to launch its own line of devices that run on BB10 in the first quarter of 2013.
