Oculus VR headset set to launch early next year
May 7 , 2015
Oculus VR has said its much-awaited headset, called the Rift, will be launched for sale in the first quarter of 2016. So far, the virtual reality company, which was bought by Facebook for $2 billion in 2014, has only sold editions targeting creators of video games.
The niche market is heating up. Taiwanese firm HTC’s helmet, the Vive, would be available to customers before the end of 2015. Sony's Morpheus, which is designed to work with its PlayStation console, is expected to be launched in the first half of 2016.
