Number of spam emails hits 12-year low, says security firm

The number of spam emails being sent to people is at a 12-year low, security firm Symantec has said.
Fewer than 50% of mails scanned by the firm last month were spam, the lowest percentage seen in more than a decade, it said.
The drop indicates that cyber-criminals may be looking for alternative ways to make money.
Legal action against networks involved in spamming had helped in cutting down such emails, Symantec said.
