NSA can record all calls in a foreign nation
March 19 , 2014
Edward Snowden has revealed another NSA scoop and it seems that the agency has access to a program called MYSTIC, which is able to record all phone calls in a foreign nation. A program manager referred to it as being a "time machine" since the agency can replay any call within 30 days.
The program has done so well that NSA was planning on expanding it to other nations but it's not clear as to whether or not that happened.
"The first concern - among many - that comes to mind here is the strong possibility that Americans are unwittingly being spied on while these calls are recorded." Adam Clark Estes of Gizmodo writes. "After all, if 100 percent of a country's calls are going on the record, it seems unavoidable that American voices would be heard."
