Nintendo Wii U to be released in November

  • Nintendo announced on Thursday it would launch its Wii U games console on November 18 in the U.S., November 30 in Europe and December 8 in Japan.

There will be two versions of the games console, a basic edition and a deluxe set with more storage and associated kit.

In the U.S., the cheaper model, which features 8GB of storage, will sell for $300. It does not include an infrared sensor bar or nunchuck controller.

The premium edition will be priced at $350 and includes 32GB of storage, a sensor bar and the firm's new Nintendo Land game.

The device also features a touch screen enabling players to carry out in-game tasks, such as checking their inventory or setting an explosive, while the game continues on their television.
