  • Nintendo’s Wii U console has made its debut in Japan.

The device has already sold out in many U.S. stores and is expected to be in short supply by the end of the weekend.

Equipped with a touch-screen controller, the Wii U GamePad enables players to play games on a television or on the GamePad screen.

In addition to the basic 8 GB model priced at $299.99, Nintendo is selling a "deluxe" 32 GB version for $349.99 in the United States. The "deluxe" package includes its new Nintendo land game.
