'New partnership' with Europe: Uber promises 50,000 jobs

The chief executive of Uber has said the online cab-sharing firm could create as many as 50,000 jobs this year as it rapidly expands in Europe, according to media reports.
Travis Kalanick said on Sunday, January 18, that 2015 would see the firm forging a “new partnership” with cities in Europe.
Existing taxi operators and regulators around the world have criticized Uber’s business model.
The San Francisco start-up, which helps customers call taxis via their smartphones, operates in some 250 cities globally.
