New iPhone app identifies faces in photos

  • A new iPhone app called KLiK that performs real-time facial recognition to automatically identify and tag friends in photos has been launched.

The app, launched by facial recognition technology platform Face.com, connects to Facebook and scans friends' photos to develop a facial profile of everyone in a user's network.

It then identifies people by matching faces in photos taken with or uploaded to the app.

The app also includes a learn mode to use for friends who are not on Facebook.

Face.com says KLiK is close to 90 percent accurate.
