New app tells owners when to water plants
May 28 , 2012
A new plant sensor and app has been launched that tells owners when it is time to water and feed their plants
The Koubachi Wifi Plant Sensor is placed in the soil of a potted plant and connects with a smartphone app that alerts users when plants need watering, fertilizer or more or less light.
The sensor collects data such as soil moisture, light intensity and ambient temperature, which is sent to the app and available for iOS devices and on the web.
The free app, created by Kouchabi AG, is available worldwide from the App Store but the sensor is currently only sold at the company’s online store.
