New Amazon competitor is like an online version of Costco

  • Amazon.com has a brand new competitor called Boxed. It's basically an "online Costco" since it delivers products in bulk at people's door within two days in the lower 48 states and even overnight in some major cities.

Boxed is now six months old and was created by 10 engineers and project managers. Most of these people worked on mobile games first. The CEO of the company mentioned that it was "easier to build than a game." He said the company plans on making it possible to re-supply products automatically so people never have to stand in line to buy things such as toilet paper.

Boxed currently stays away for heavy goods like dog food and sells only 600 popular items.
