Mozilla launches $33 smartphone in India

  • Mozilla has launched Intex Cloud FX, a low-cost smartphone for the Indian market that will cost Rs 1,999 or $33 in retail, as per media reports.

The phone can be bought only at Snapdeal, an online store.

Intex Cloud FX, which runs on Firefox — Mozilla’s operating system (OS) — is the first such low-cost device using that OS in Asia.

Mozilla said the aim was to enable people to experience a smartphone "at the cost of a feature phone.”
