Microsubmarines could be used to clean oil spills

Submarines ten times smaller that the width of a human hair could be used to clean up oil spills, according to researchers.
The self-propelled microsubmarines could be used to collect oil droplets based on tests carried out by a team at the University of California San Diego’s nano-engineering department.
Bubbles created as a result of internal oxidation of hydrogen peroxide would propel the tiny motors.
Similar technology is used to deliver drugs through a person’s bloodstream.
