Microsoft unveils holographic headset, voice assistant for Windows 10

  • Windows 10 will introduce Cortana, the voice-controlled assistant, to PCs, Microsoft has announced.

The technology giant also unveiled a futuristic holographic headset on Wednesday, January 21, though it could be years before it is actually released, according to media reports.

The firm said the upgrade to Windows 10 would be free for devices that run Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows Phone during the new operating system’s first year.

Chief Executive Satya Nadella described the HoloLens headset as a “magical moment” in "category creation." The wearable technology allows users to see graphical elements superimposed on the real world.
