Microsoft unveils first new logo in 25 years

Microsoft has unveiled its first new logo in 25 years as it seeks to forge its branding ahead of the release of several new products this year.
The world's largest software company has introduced a splash of color in its logo, using a new multi-colored square next to its name. The revamp marks its first logo redesign since 1987.
The new logo is already in use on Microsoft's website and was unveiled at its latest store opening in Boston on Thursday.
Microsoft is releasing its new Windows 8 operating system along with new Office and phone software this fall.
