Microsoft appoints Amy Hood as new finance chief
May 9 , 2013
Microsoft appointed Amy Hood as its new chief financial officer on Wednesday.
Hood, 41, is the first woman to hold the post at the firm.
She is currently the head of finance at Microsoft's Office division. Hood replaces Peter Klein, who announced his decision to step down last month.
Hood began her career at Microsoft in 2002. Prior to that she worked at Goldman Sachs.
In recent months, the technology giant has seen the departures of two senior executives leading to doubts over the leadership of boss Steve Ballmer.
