September 19 , 2014
Software giant Microsoft has culled another 2,100 jobs as part of a plan to trim its workforce by 14% and involving 18,000 job-cuts.
Of the latest cuts, 747 are in the Seattle region, and the remaining are spread across the world.
It had already slashed 13,000 jobs, a majority of them at the phone unit of Nokia which Microsoft bought.
In June, in an email to company staff, chief executive Satya Nadella had described the job cuts as “difficult but necessary”.
