Methane spikes on Mars trigger researchers' Curiosity
December 17 , 2014
Methane has been detected on Mars, an indication of possible life on the planet.
Nasa's Curiosity rover robot detects very tiny amounts of the gas regularly, but what’s interesting are the sudden spikes of methane detected that are much greater in amount and don’t last long.
The reason why methane intrigues researchers is that on Earth microbial life forms are responsible for producing most of the gas
So far the research team behind Curiosity does not know for sure the source of methane on Mars.
