Man gives his Flappy Bird phone on rent
February 14 , 2014
Flappy Bird disappeared all of a sudden and caused a strange gray market. Devices pre-loaded with the game have high prices attached on eBay and Craigslist and one auction climbed up to over $250,000 with 76 birds.
Reports suggest that eBay is taking down the listings since the policy of the site requires devices to be reset. Craigslist doesn't have that issue but people would have to hand over their phones along with their Apple IDs, which could prove to be a bad idea.
"Truthfully, I think Flappy Bird is a dumb game that people are way too hyped about," a Washington, DC, man who is renting out his phone for $1 per minute said. "My personal high score is six."
