Make coders develop apps for Blackberry phones: John Chen

  • John Chen, the chief executive of phone company BlackBerry, has said that app makers should be obliged to make software for his firm’s handsets, according to media reports.

In an open letter addressed to US Congress members, Chen said that by not making the apps, other developers and companies were discriminating against BlackBerry

His comments have led to criticism in the technology world.

He said the status quo was discriminatory as certain app makers were not creating popular app versions for several phones, which included BlackBerry devices.
