LinkedIn to target students
August 20 , 2013
LinkedIn is now looking to lower the age bar to 14 in the U.S. and launch University Pages in order to help students network around their schools.
The younger audiences that face a more competitive landscape could draw the new category to LinkedIn.
With the competition for students becoming tougher nowadays, having an option of knowing as to who is connected to the school to write a recommendation could make a difference.
A senior at Syracuse University, Billy Ceskavich said the website already appeals to his socially networked peers.
Apart from getting updates from the universities, students will also get a chance to ask questions in order to get insight into a school's culture.
They will also be able to see as to where the alumni from particular universities have a big presence.
200 of such pages are expected to launch.
