Liberia's Ebola drug trial starts

  • The trial of a drug that may treat Ebola has begun in Liberia, one of the west African countries hit hardest by the deadly virus.

Ebola patients are taking the antiviral drug, brincidofovir, on a voluntary basis at the Medecins Sans Frontieres center.

Researchers from the Oxford University, who are carrying out the study said initial results could take a few months.

Another study using a similar drug had started in Guinea last month.
