Lenovo faces heat over 'hidden adware'
February 20 , 2015
Lenovo has been compelled to remove adware from its computers after facing users’ disapproval. The hidden adware, which has been labelled Superfish, had controversial security implications for users' laptops and PCs, according to experts.
Some of the techniques used by the pre-installed software to inject browser adverts were described as being similar to malware. Though Lenovo says it has taken off Superfish from newer machines, it is not entirely clear what happens to computers where it is already activated, reports said.
