July 25 , 2015
Fiat Chrysler has issued a safety recall in the US that will reportedly affect 1.4 million vehicles, after security experts demonstrated that one of the company’s cars could be hacked.
Wired magazine had reported that hackers used a net-connected system to seize control of a Jeep Cherokee.
Chrysler said the voluntary recall was being issued to update software in affected vehicles. It said hacking its vehicles constituted a “criminal action”.
