Irish bookmaker says personal details of customers were stolen in 2010

  • Paddy Power, an Irish bookmaker, has said that its website was hacked in 2010 and around 649,000 customers’ personal details stolen.

Stolen data included names, dates of birth and addresses, the bookmaker said. However, the company stressed that no personal financial data was taken.

Apologizing for the breach, Peter O'Donovan, managing director of Paddy Power's online unit, said an “extensive investigation” had been conducted into “the breach and the recovered data.”
