Iran blocks Instagram
May 25 , 2014
An Iranian court banned Instagram, adding it to the list of several other social media networks that have been banned in the country.
The move stems from a lawsuit that arose privacy concerns. Media notes that top government officials continue to use services such as Facebook and Twitter for political reasons but the general public isn't allowed free access. However, plenty of people manage to gain access through proxy services.
Iran blocked Instragram once before in December of last year as well.
