Internet is 'less free, more unequal'
December 12 , 2014
The internet was becoming less free as well as more unequal, a report by the World Wide Web Foundation says.
According to the foundation’s annual web index, internet users are at greater risk of state surveillance, and laws to prevent mass snooping are either weak or don’t exist in most countries.
Online censorship has also been increasing, the report says. It says 74% of nations were not doing enough to prevent online harassment of women.
