Intel's 3D camera to detect emoticons and eyes
August 27 , 2013
Intel considers the 3D camera to be the future of computing and the company recently provided with more details regarding the functions of the device.
Anil Nanduri of Intel said the technology can recognize emoticons such as smiles and can also track a person's gaze, detecting when readers encounter unfamiliar words in a book, for instance. The device is also able to scan objects for 3D printing. However, we are not going to get a sample of its workings till the end of the current quarter.
We can be sure, however, that this could give some tough competition to Window's Kinect.
