Incandescent bulbs are not banned in the US

You have probably heard by now that the government has imposed a ban on 40W and 60W incandescent light bulbs. However, Sean Hollister writes at The Verge that it isn't true and the government has only tightened their efficiency standards by about 25 percent.
Some expensive incandescents are capable of doing that and are more efficient in terms of energy savings.
Considering that compact fluorescents use even less juice, incandescent light bulbs could indeed die one day. However, insiders believe that CFLs are the ones that are endangered and LEDs are more efficient.
