Implantable technology to get under our skin
March 30 , 2014
Wearable technology such as Google's Android Wear is bringing the power of a smartphone to people's wrists. However the next wave isn't too far either and promises to bring sci-fi future even closer.
Implantable or "embeddable" technology refers to objects that can be inserted into the human body in order to heal or make modifications like nothing else. Implanted GPS tracking chips have already been invented for pets and reports suggest that it will become mainstream in the next three or four years.
In fact, embedded technology already exists in medicine since silicone plants are quite routine but some labs are figuring out what else could be possible for the future.
