HP reportedly considering job cuts

  • Hewlett-Packard is considering cutting its workforce by 8 to 10 percent, equal to a minimum of 25,000 jobs, according to sources familiar with the matter.

    The news comes as new CEO Meg Whitman seeks to steer the Silicon Valley firm back into growth.

    The job cuts, which could include retirements, have not yet been finalized.

    HP, which employs more than 300,000 people across the globe, could announce the layoffs as soon as next week when it unveils quarterly results.
