Hospital group hack: 4.5 million people's data stolen

  • Community Health Systems, a prominent American hospital group, has revealed that it had been the target of a major cyber-attack in April and June that led to the theft of personal data belonging to around 4.5 million people, according to media reports.

    The origin of the cyber-attack is suspected to be China, reports indicated. The stolen data, includes names, birthdates, telephone numbers, and addresses of patients, reports said.

    Community Health Systems runs more than 200 hospitals across America.
