Harman chief not threatened by Apple
June 14 , 2012
Harman International Industries has insisted it will not be affected by Apple’s plans to offer voice activated real-time traffic updates and navigation in cars.
Chief Executive Dinesh Paliwal said luxury cars, the primary market that Harman caters to, will always come with embedded infotainment systems, which can be connected to smart phones such as Apple's iPhone.
Harman shares have lost 9 percent of their value since Apple made its announcement on Monday.
