Google X tests drones that can deliver goods

  • Google X, the secretive research branch of Google, has tested aerial vehicles that can be used to deliver goods.

Project Wing had started around two years but was being kept under wraps.

Google says its aim is to make drones which can be used to deliver disaster relief and aid to far-flung areas that are not easily accessible to conventional vehicles.

Initially, the thinking behind the project was that the drones could be used for quickly transporting defibrillator kits to people who had suffered a heart attack.
