Google tool: Android apps can now run on Windows, Macs

  • Arc Welder, a new Google tool introduced by the company, allows Android apps to run on machines that support the Chrome browser.

Thus, Android apps can run on OSX, Windows and Linux machines, using this tool. Google says that the converted apps would be able to run nearly as quickly as they would on a tablet or phone.

Some experts have, however, questioned the effectiveness of “cross-platform” frameworks as opposed to natively developed apps.
