Google removes 'rogue app' from Play store

  • Google has removed a rogue app from Play store that fooled people into believing that it was a legitimate program.

The malicious app spoofed a popular app called BatteryBot Pro, which monitors a smartphone’s power usage. The rogue app not only sent text messages, but, more worryingly, blocked users from deleting it, according to security analysts.

Experts said that people who have become targets of the fake app should contact their mobile providers.
