June 10 , 2013
Google is close to acquiring Israel mapping start-up Waze for $1.3 billion, according to Israeli media reports on Sunday.
The report by financial newspaper Globes did not cite sources or divulge further information.
Last month, sources told another Israeli newspaper that Facebook was willing to shell out up to $1 billion for the firm.
Waze is a mobile navigation device that uses information provided by its 47 million members to collate its maps.
