Google acquires news stream service Wavii

Google on Sunday announced its acquisition of news stream service Wavii for $30 million.
Wavii was launched last year and offers a customized news feed to users based on their interests.
It is the brainchild of engineers who previously worked for Amazon and Microsoft and offers its services via the web or as a smartphone app.
According to media reports, Apple had also been keen to buy the start-up.
